Portrait of Marco Fontana, illustrator and surface designer

About me

I’m an eclectic creative, driven by a lifelong fascination with different forms of visual expression.

Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of disciplines — from drawing and comics to illustration, painting, advertising and packaging design — allowing different techniques and experiences to continually influence the way I think and create.
I began working in animation at a very young age, collaborating with Bignardi Films, and later worked as an illustrator, cartoonist and comic artist for several publications, including Il Resto del Carlino. Over time, my work expanded into visual communication, advertising and design, while drawing has always remained at the heart of my creative practice.

Since 2008, I have also returned more consistently to my personal artistic research, experimenting with different techniques, materials and visual languages. Today, I bring this diverse background into surface design, where illustration, art, graphic design and creative thinking come together to create imagery that interacts with spaces and interior environments.
